Distillery Tours & Craft Beer Tasting in Ireland

explore ireland’s whiskey and beer heritage

Ireland has some incredible, award-winning whiskey, gin, vodka, beer, and even poitín (moonshine). You name it, Ireland has it. Discover Ireland’s most impressive craft beer breweries and whiskey distilleries on one of our small group tours in Ireland.
Along with the rest of the world, the Irish people have taken their hand to craft beer brewing and have proven to be rather good at it. But not only brewing beer has made a revival, also small batch whiskey distilleries are popping up all along The Wild Atlantic Way. The team of Irish adventure tours have selected a few spots well worth visiting.
Along with the rest of the world, the Irish people have embraced craft beer and we’ve proven to be rather good at it. But, on top of brewing beer, small-batch whiskey distilleries are also popping up all along The Wild Atlantic Way. The team here at Overland Ireland has selected a few spots well worth visiting.
Once you’ve been to the Guinness Brewery tour and the Jameson Distillery tour, it will be time to give the underdogs a chance and taste some of the lesser-known delicious whiskey and craft beers made all across Ireland.
Small distilleries and breweries have great back stories. Their dedication and hard work to mastering their trade and producing world-class products are palpable during the tours. Sampling the product is a highlight for guests and a beer or whiskey tour is a great fit for anyone embarking on an adventure tour across Ireland.

Dingle Distillery – Kerry

During your two-day stop in Dingle you will definitely visit the Dingle Distillery. This Whiskey, Gin and Vodka artisan distillery is focusing more in quality than quantity. There scale is modest and they are bringing back the tradition of independent distilling in Ireland. The tours are really informative and of course you get to taste some of the finest distilled drinks in Ireland. We always make sure we plan this after the wonderful Slea Head Drive towards the end of day to get the evening started in style.

Dingle Brewing Company

Irish adventure tours recommend a visit to the Dingle Brewery Company. Their most famous beer, Tom Crean’s lager, was named after the famous arctic explorer. The company was set up in an old creamery building in 2011 on the 20th of July, which not coincidentally was also Tom Crean’s birthday.

Galway Bay Brewery – Salthill, Galway

On your tour of Ireland with Overland Ireland, you will have the opportunity to visit the Galway Bay Brewery, the Kingpins of the Irish craft brewery scene. This optional activity gives you the opportunity to taste some of Galway’s best beers. A few names to look out for are the Full Sail, Foam of Fury, Bay Ale, Stormy Port and Buried At Sea. The team of Ireland Adventure tours has had many discussions on which beer was best… This tour would be a particularly good fit for anyone taking our Skellig Michael tour.
With new breweries and distilleries being established all over Ireland, your guide might take you to another brand-new establishment as well. We are happy that our tours of Ireland are flexible and can surprise you on your trip. We will continue to explore and discover new places and new activities to visit in Ireland. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
