Well, it seems like Beyoncé has broken the internet this week! We would like to congratulate her on her announcement that she is having twins! It got us thinking about Beyoncé’s trip to Ireland with Jay Z and their adorable toddler Blue Ivy. They spent a magical few days on an Ireland tour after her Dublin performances. And if a vacation around Ireland is good enough for Beyoncé, let’s face it, it’s good enough for everyone!
So, why do so many celebrities come to the Emerald Isle on vacation? Is it because we have a temperate climate all year round? Is it because we have the most stunning views from our thousands of miles of coastline? Is it because Irish people are seen as the friendliest in the world? Is it because we give a hundred thousand welcomes to visitors on Ireland tours?
Whatever their reasons are, celebrities visit Ireland in droves every year. Irish people are not as celebrity-obsessed as other nations! We tend to leave celebrities alone to enjoy themselves when they are here. They can eat, drink, and socialize amongst the locals without feeling like an outsider.
But don’t just take our word for it! Scroll down to find out more about celebrities who have visited Ireland. If you have any questions about our tours of Ireland, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Celebrities Who Have Visited Ireland
Scarlett Johansson
Our recent celebrity spot was Scarlet Johansson, who visited Bohemian Galway City for a couple of days. She said that the west of Ireland has always been on her to-do list, so she hopped on a plane and visited the City of the Tribes.
We cannot confirm or deny whether Scarlett read our blog Why is Galway Known as Ireland’s Cultural Heart? before her visit, but there is a possibility!
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim and Kanye decided to honeymoon in Ireland! They took vacationing like a local to the extreme when they went to see a movie in a small theatre in the Midlands! Not very celebrity-like, but they were obviously delighted to feel like normal people for a change.
Matt Damon and Russel Crowe
Former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine has a mansion in Dalkey, Dublin, and at least two celebrities have enjoyed extended stays there. Matt Damon famously made the seaside village his home for several months, and he was duly followed by fellow Tinseltown titan Russell Crowe!
We don’t explore Dublin on our small-group tours of Ireland, so sadly Matt and Russell couldn’t join us for an unfiltered, authentic experience in Ireland’s off-the-beaten-path gems.
Taylor Swift
The world-conquering Taylor Swift has been spotted in numerous locations around Ireland, including Dublin and Donegal. In 2021, Swift posted photos that appeared to be taken on Donegal’s Magherawardan Beach. The following year, the pop singer was reported to have stayed at a Dublin-based Airbnb called The Coach House.
Emily Ratajkowsi
Both of Emily Ratajkowsi’s grandmothers are Irish, so her family has strong ties to the Emerald Isle. In fact, the American supermodel enjoyed many childhood summers in County Cork. She often visits the family home in West Cork for a break from the fast-paced celebrity lifestyle. But Emily isn’t the only famous face seen around Cork…
Hollywood Royalty Love Cork!
Cork is a hive of celebrities during the summer months attracting stars like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Mel Gibson alongside famous residents like Liam Neeson and Angela Landsbury. West Cork’s stunning seaside towns like Kinsale, Cobh, and Baltimore are a wash with famous people looking to relax, enjoy the countryside, and indulge in some seafood and a creamy pint of black stuff.
Just some of our own tours that offer experiences in Cork include the Ireland to Island Active Tour of Ireland, the Ultimate Ireland Tour Package, and the Magical Southern Ireland Tour.
