Stand Up Paddle-boarding in Ireland

Ireland has a moderate climate which means that our waters are never too cold and excellent for water sports. Small group tours of Ireland are delighted to offer some of the best watersports available. Like all of our activities we like to combine them with sight-seeing and exploring hidden gems off the beaten track of Ireland.
Stand Up Paddle boarding, short SUP, is a relatively new and exciting sport. Supping has its origins in West Africa and Polynesia and now people all over the world are paddling on rivers, lakes, and oceans. The sport is extremely well suited to our small group tours of Ireland as its accessible to a wide range of people and a great way to get fit, explore the seas and surf the ocean.
Summer SUP School – Old Head, Westport
Last year we were delighted to team up with Muirtí at the Summer SUP school in Westport. We found this an excellent alternative for guests who wished to take a plunge in the Atlantic instead of hiking up Croagh Patrick. You will spend the session mastering balance on the board, cruising the coastline of Mayo and if you are feeling brave enough you can try out a few yoga moves on board! We will set off from Old Head and discover the beautiful nooks and crannies of Clew Bay with Croagh Patrick at your back and the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean under your feet.
Rusheen Bay Watersports – RBW – Galway
RBW has been voted Luxury Travel Guide Watersports Centre of the year 2017. We are thrilled to partner up with them and let their expert instructors take you on a paddle through Rusheen Bay, out onto Galway Bay and onwards to Salthill Village and Galway City on your small group tours of Ireland. Guests rave about SUP Safaris with RBW and it helps that it gives you one of the best work outs going! Get fit and have fun. It’s a win win situation!
Kinsale Surf School – Kinsale, Cork
Kinsale Surf School has a variety of SUP Safaris to choose from. They will take our guests on a guided tour around Old Head, sea caves and promise to get up close and personal with the wild marine life – giant jelly fish, rare birds and seals. The scenic Sandy Cove Island safari is another favorite which promises to be a relaxing paddle along the coastline.
